Oil transshipment
PERN S.A.’s pipeline infrastructure is directly connected to Naftoport.
Naftoport, a company owned to the PERN capital group, conducts transshipments of crude oil and petroleum products at the Port of Gdansk. The company is an essential element in the logistics of oil supply and transit, as well as one of key components of land-sea transshipment of petroleum products. Naftoport is particularly important in ensuring the country’s energy security by enabling PERN’s customers to optimise the supply of diverse types of crude oil. It is Poland’s only offshore oil transshipment terminal and the largest domestic terminal for transshipment of refined oil products, as well as one of the largest oil transshipment terminals on the Baltic Sea.
Current Naftoport’s annual handling capacity is as follows:
- 36 million tonnes of crude oil
- 4 million tonnes of petroleum products.
The storage and technological back-up facilities for the transshipment equipment at the coastal terminal are two crude oil bases in Gdańsk owned by PERN S.A.
- Gdańsk Base – PERN Bases
- Gdańsk Oil Terminal – PERN Bases
The main advantages of Naftoport compared to other Baltic Sea ports are:
- high transshipment capacity,
- port’s unique location,
- direct pipeline connection to refineries , which is provided by the Pomeranian
pipeline.
